Makkah Pilgrim Season Parking Structure Marking
Re-mark a 6,200-bay, 6-level pilgrim parking structure serving Makkah accommodation towers ahead of Hajj season, with wayfinding colour coding for non-Arabic-speaking pilgrims, accessibility bays for elderly and disabled pilgrims, and emergency-vehicle access lanes. The Challenge
Re-mark a 6,200-bay, 6-level pilgrim parking structure serving Makkah accommodation towers ahead of Hajj season, with wayfinding colour coding for non-Arabic-speaking pilgrims, accessibility bays for elderly and disabled pilgrims, and emergency-vehicle access lanes. All work had to be completed before pilgrim arrival.
Our Solution
Specified solvent-based acrylic line paint with preformed thermoplastic symbols for high-traffic durability. Layout used zone-coloured levels (yellow, blue, red, green, amber, ivory) for pilgrim wayfinding, with 240 accessibility bays, 120 emergency-vehicle lanes and trilingual (Arabic, English, Urdu) bay-number marking.
Execution
Crews worked 3 shifts per day across 6 levels, applying 6,200 bay lines plus 240 accessibility symbols, 120 emergency-vehicle-lane hatchings and 6 colour-coded level zones. Trilingual bay numbers were stencilled at every bay entry. Final layout was surveyed against Makkah Region Municipality standards.
