Dammam Refinery Safety Signage & Pipe Identification Package
Design, manufacture and install a complete safety signage and pipe-identification package for a Dammam refinery, including ISO 7010 pictograms, photoluminescent escape routes, ASME A13.1 pipe banding on 24 km of pipework, and ATEX-compliant signage in Zone 1 classified areas. The refinery had to remain operational throughout.
The Challenge
Design, manufacture and install a complete safety signage and pipe-identification package for a Dammam refinery, including ISO 7010 pictograms, photoluminescent escape routes, ASME A13.1 pipe banding on 24 km of pipework, and ATEX-compliant signage in Zone 1 classified areas. The refinery had to remain operational throughout.
Our Solution
Engineered a 2,800-sign package compliant with ISO 7010, ASME A13.1, Saudi Aramco GES-001 and SASO standards. Photoluminescent exit signs were specified for process-unit escape routes with charging verification to DIN 67510, with ATEX-rated substrates and intrinsically safe mounting hardware in Zone 1 areas.
Execution
Surveyed and tagged every sign and pipe-band location, manufactured signs in-house on 3 mm aluminium with photoluminescent overlay where required, and installed across 9 process units over 10 weeks of PTW-controlled night-shift working. Final commissioning included luminance tests on 420 photoluminescent signs and pressure-test verification on 24 km of pipe banding.
